The Brooksbanks

Page 2

Henry Brooksbank (my 4 x great grandfather) was the son of Timothy Brooksbank and Sarah Brough who married in 1799 in Nottingham St Mary's. For more information on Henry's descendants, please click the following link:

Timothy Brooksbank was a framework knitter, a common occupation in Nottingham at that time. The family lived in Charlotte Street in 1814 and Turncalf Alley at least between 1818 and 1821. Timothy was in turn the son of Thomas Brooksbank and Mary Harris. Thomas and Mary were married in 1762 at Nottingham St Mary's. In the register, it states that Thomas was "of the parish of Wakefield in the County of York". I know little else about Thomas, but Gill Wilmot has managed to use the clue to Wakefield to take this line further back, as you can see from the tree below.

Much of the information I have on the Brooksbanks is due to the extensive work of two other researchers, Gill Wilmot and Ernie Knight, for which I am most grateful.

The family tree below summarises what I know about the above generations of the Brooksbank family. All the details of the earlier generations shown here are the hard work of Gill Wilmot. Hopefully the rest of the tree is reasonably accurate too, but much of the information I have used here has been gleaned from information on the Internet and I have not had the chance to verify its accuracy. So if you do spot any errors, or any relatives, please feel free to E-mail me

Please click on one of the red links on the tree to move to a different page.
